Robert Cribb is a historian of Indonesia with interests in other parts of Asia, including Malaysia and Japan. He completed his PhD at SOAS in London and has worked in academic institutions in Australia, the Netherlands, Denmark and Singapore.
His research covers several topics including national identity, political violence, environmental politics and historical geography. He is currently working with Sandra Wilson (Murdoch University) on the history of Japanese war crimes in Southeast Asia.
