My research examines the evolution of regional security strategy in Southeast Asia, tracing its development from the early modern period to the present. I am particularly interested in how Southeast Asian strategic thought and practice have evolved and shaped the way polities and states manage unequal power relations and navigate the transition in international order. I apply a world-historical approach to the international relations of Southeast Asia.
